The Importance of 11:11

For the past week and a half I have had two things on my mind, the 7th Harry Potter movie midnight showing and the datasheet. Both somehow strategically placed so it seemed I could not go to the movie without failing the other. As most students would use their time wisely typing away at their computers, I took a different approach. I made a wish. Allow me to lay out the rules of 11:11. 1. Yes, you are allowed to watch the clock for 11:11 but only after it is actually 11:00, anytime before that is absurd and the wish shouldn’t count. Also if you happen to look at the clock exactly at 11:11 the wish counts extra because it’s as if it was meant to be. 2. Eyes need to be shut when making a wish, this goes for all wishes including shooting stars, birthday cakes and when you wake up on the first of a month, as Sara Glass recently informed me. 3. You do not need to touch something red after you make a wish. I do not understand this method some people use, I have never touched anything red when making a wish and I have been doing just fine. 4. If you tell anyone your wish before it comes true it will not come true. No exceptions. And 5. Wishes at 11:11 p.m. are significantly better than a.m. wishes unless you happen to sleep in on the weekend and wake up at exactly 11:11. In case anyone was unaware, last week was November 11th, meaning an 11:11 wish would occur at 11:11 on 11/11. Now referring back to rule number 4 I may share my wish at this time, now that it has come true. My wish was simple… to have the time to finish my datasheet and attend the midnight showing of the Harry Potter movie. And what do you know my Chinese teacher jets off to China leaving me with a sub and a study hall to type away on my datasheet. Now don’t be distressed those of you who sadly missed last week’s 11:11 because next year the wish will occur at 11:11 11/11/11. So get ready for a once in a century chance to make the ultimate wish!

  1. Tina, I also am a big fan of 11:11 and took full advantage of the 11:11 11/11 wishes both in the morning and at night. Many people do not understand the 11:11 rules so I am glad you laid them out for everyone. I never heard about making a wish on the first of the month and will consult Sara on that one. I also never understood the rule about touching something red, very faulty.

Ps. I really like your blog theme!
